Analysis

The book that I read was Angels and Demons written by Dan Brown. From a sociology standpoint it has a lot to do with how people would act in in-groups and the way a person would react to power. For example in the book there is a group of people called illuminati. They are a group of people who want to take control of the church system. There is one man in charge, he does a lot of group leadership, and when he gives an order people will follow it. It does not matter if it is killing a man or killing them selves the order must be carried out. From a sociologist standpoint you could call it group dynamics. You can say that because it is the norm to carry out the order of their leader. He can be considered a task leadership because he is directing the group towards one goal and that is to get control of all the churches. The one main fact that I noticed while reading the book was that these people would work as a group-polarization. They would make more radical decisions as a group then they would make as an individual. So from all of this I learned that not all people will act as one when they are in a group trying to accomplish one goal.
